Yesterday I went out on the Great Escape to dive off of Palos Verdes.
Our first dive was at the wreck of the Avalon. I went bug hunting. I was the first in and found there was a slight current so I headed into it. I saw hundreds of bugs, all short, except for one female that was about 1/8" over. I grabbed and bagged her. There were also many small (12"-15" long) lingcod sitting out on the rocks. The visibility was about 40'.

The next dive was at Point Vicente Reef. There was a strong current on the outside, and almost none closer to shore. I looked fr bugs, but I only saw a few shorts. I also saw a batray, and a rather large octopus. The visibility was about 20' and the water temperature was 57°F.

I passed on the third dive off of old Marineland.

It was a fun day, nice dives, warm weather, and good food. I did not take any underwater pictures but I did take a few on the surface.
