Two years ago we dove from the Spectre at the Anacapa rookery and played with several dozen sea lions. Otter handed her snorkel to one of them and the sea lion kept the (pink) snorkel in its mouth during play - imitating us. When we were ready to return to the boat I reached toward the sea lioon and it returned the snorkel to me - no bite marks or damage.

We keep that snorkel in our dive locker as a fond memory of a wonderful encounter with this remarkable sea lion.

Of course, no video or photos - just a great memory. Like most of our memories of the great times we have enjoyed diving and associating with our fellow divers.
