I use a 50-50 solution of 5% distilled vinegar and 70% isopropyl alcohol. Th alcohol helps dry out the ear canal and the combination is a pretty good dose againt infection and bacteria. I swim 3 days a week and am in the pool or ocean on weekends - use after each water session with no adverse effects.

When I dive Castaic I first rinse with hydrogen peroxide, then fill my ear canal with the above 50-50 solution and soak it for about 5 minutes per ear.

SwimEar is basically all 90% alcohol - tends to dry out the canal too much (but the squeeze bottle can be refilled with 'home brew').
