The difference is fish size, abundance, and diversity between
Pt. Lobos State Reserve (protected for many years) and nearby
unprotected areas is stunning. At Pt. Lobos the fish are bigger,
and more numerous, and you commonly see species (most notably sheephead)
that are rarely seen outside the reserve.
