Not my premise at all. The boat captains can do whatever they deem appropriate. Bitching at them for not going out or hinting at a conspiracy is my beef. There are a number of ways to show support so don't fool yourself into thinking that just choosing to dive on Wednesday makes you a philanthropist.

My bad. We carry a limited number of divers to make room for all our crap so we routinely pay $140+ to spend the day at Catalina. We're lucky if we can get 2 dives in.

And yes, I know I'm an a-hole. Probably worse.
