Phil and I both have crossed in 13' footers, no biggy. You might consider Two Harbors also, only 1 hotel there, The Banning House or camping? Great sites there to dive including Blue Cavern and Wrigley Preserve. We'll be there next weekend for the Wine Fest, and over the 4th for 5 days, it's the "other" Catalina, my favorite, Easy moorings, strategic camping :)
