I gladly pay the 6 or 7 dollars to get into Gerstle Cove or Fort Ross.
Some of those State Campgrounds up in Mendocino county are so popular you can't even get in the day the reservations start 7 months in advanced of the dates you want. I've never seen it so busy. Literally, every site is booked months in advanced for all days even during the week. They can't tell me they are losing money on those campgrounds. Even if they increased the price 25 or 30 percent people would gladly pay it. Camping is one of the last things that's cheap and fun.
