There will be a stakeholder meeting regarding the new California Farallones and Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary regulations for white sharks. The sanctuaries welcome recreational charter operators, including whale watch operators, white shark cage diving operators, fishing tour operators, researchers, and conservationists to attend. Workshop goals include informing shark researchers and shark viewing operators of the new white shark regulations, informing shark researchers and shark viewing operators of the permitting process, sharing anticipated permit special conditions for shark tourism activities, informing attendees of the Naturalist Training and receiving feedback on the best time (weekend, weekday evening or weekday) to offer the training. Sanctuaries staff will also be available to answer any clarifying questions during the stakeholder meeting. The stakeholders meeting will be held on Wednesday 17 June 2009 from 1830 to 1930 in the Gulf of the Farallones National Marine Sanctuary headquarters offices at 991 Marine Dr. , The Presidio, San Francisco , CA 94129 .
