what a surprise, I am also a hardcore sportfisherman. Scientists are not sure if the appearance of these squid in our waters is a population explosion, or a shift in historic range, but they have been around for years now. But they know one thing for sure, they are consuming our local fish stocks including most juvenile rockfish, so a few less of these voracious predators is just fine.
