You know, Eric, I sort of like having a whole beach to ourselves. We took our dog to Schooner Gulch one day and let her run off leash - just her, Tori and me for hours.... oh, and a deer that came down to the besch and ran along the surf- don't see that in LA. (if anyone is wondering, our dog looked at the deer and decided it was a bit too big to play with - really BIG dog!)

Found a baby wolf eel in a tide pool plus a lot of rock fish fry. Point Lobos is a mall parking lot compared to the shores of Northern California.

Elaine - if you don't want the drive, take the train (or fly) to Oakland and rent a car. Its still a bit of a drive, but take the Petaluma cutoff to Bodega where you hit the 1 and enjoy the coast - its like Big Sur, but way cooler.
