Anchorages at Catalina Island

Need suggestions as to where one might anchor for an overnight stay at Catalina after a day of diving. I was told that I can forget about renting a mooring unless I've had the foresight to reserve something a month in advance. I have a decent map of the dive sights around the island. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Regards to all!
