I just want to offer my appreciation and thanks to all the divers who helped us with our two dives on Saturday at Casino Point. Our two dive buddies are very capable divers, once they are in the water, but their entry and exits are made much easier due to your help and understanding.

We appreciate the understanding of all who were there for our need to have exclusive use of the stairs when moving our dive buddies in or out of the water and of the additional time we must take at the bottom of the stairs to put their dive gear on or remove gear and put the sling on for transport. We also appreciate letting us have the stairs when we needed it as people who have paralysis often have trouble regulating their body temperature, so once we zip up the wet suit, we have to move quickly to get them into the water. Coming out of the water we are also challenged in holding short of the stairs in surf or surge with a paralyzed diver, so when we come in we again have to move quickly.

Most of all, to those divers I recruited in my typical military fashion of "you, you and you, I need your help right now", for dropping everything to help carry our friends down or up the stairs and for forgiving me my brusqueness. So to those who helped carry either our friends or their gear up or down the stairs we say thank you.

It was a great day for diving and once again the SoCal dive community showed itself to be a friendly group..
