I took these pictures of mating Idotea resecata (Concave isopod, eelgrass isopod, cut-tailed isopod, seaweed isopod, kelp isopod, transparent isopod) at San Miguel Island on September 11, 2009. The depth was about 30 feet. The bottom of the kelp was at about 65 feet.

Idotea resecata is the only isopod with a concave posterior. (ref) My first posting (now deleted) had them misidentified.
