Did two dives today. There was a lot of patchy red tide on the surface, very red in some areas. the first dive was at long point just south of the post on the rock. water was warm on the surface and we didn't hit a thermocline untill we were deeper than 55 feet. vis above the thermocline was variable 5 to 10 feet and clearer in some areas below the thermocline the vis opened up a little, maybe 15 feet. Saw all the ususal characters. The next dive was at Barber Pole (Hawthorne reef). The water temp at depth was a lot colder than Long Point, and the vis was much better, about 25 feet or so. Saw a few big Lingcod and Sand Bass and the usual host of other critters. Very pleasant dive!
