I am very shocked that video got you kicked off. And the music can't be the reason. I have several videos with "borrowed" music (10-12 at least over the past few years)... some of them they just mute out the music, some they put up the ad for purchasing the music. I have never gotten a single reprimand or notice of an issue with any of them.
could it be that someone "reported" your video as a grudge against you? I don't see anything worth of banning.
BTW - I also have a Vimeo acct and they never ban any music, you can do pretty much anything you want, short of porn or video games.
