Pictures of Great White Breaching off Malibu |
Posted by Captain Kevin on October 06, 2009 at 21:55:31: Check out these awesome pictures of an 8 – 10 ft. great white breaching close to shore of Sunset Beach in Malibu, California! There have been ongoing reports of shark breaches all over Southern California for months now. The photographer (Randy Wright) intentionally went out on a kayak to try and document the behavior…guess he did! This website is run by Ralph Collier, who works to diligently document all shark sightings, interactions, predations, and attacks along the entire Pacific Coast of North America. Ralph is one of (if not THE) researchers who pioneered the technique called “interspace measurements” to determine a shark’s size and species by it’s bite imprint. Liz and I have met him on a few occasions and he is a wonderful guy who’s love for sharks has been his life’s passion and work. We diligently follow his website to learn as much as we can about shark behavior in our area to help us be more safe when diving.
