"Xcel is using better rubber and will have better seam construction then any of the custom suit fabricators."

You sure about that?
Custom suit makers have access to all kinds of very superior materials getting all the way up to very specialized commercial grade neoprenes. Off the rack suit manufacturers use blends with high percentages of nylon for softness so their suits will conform to a wide variety of different body shapes. This is good for comfort but not good for crush resistance.
As far as seams go, a seam weld is a seam weld. I've never had a custom suit seam come apart so I don't know where you're getting your info but I think that is bogus.
