Halibug, what we saw was a mid air collision as I called it. The news said a C-130 Coast Guard plane and a Cobra helicopter collided near San Clemente island.
Has Halibug and I were standing on the bluff at the Montage checking out the condition . It was a super clear night and even roughly 25 miles away, it was still very clear. First it starts with a orange glow and then a giant fire ball that seems to be moving slowly and down, all this is about 1” above the ocean horizon. It lasted about 10 seconds and then back to pitch black ocean. It left us standing there puzzled of what just had happened.
Condolences out to our servicemen families.
