good posting, retired instructor. i agree wholeheartedly.

i'm also amazed someone can obtain an "advanced" certification simply completing a few tasks but with not much bottom time in a dive log. i'm totally with you on the lack of physical conditioning in quite a few divers on local boats and when dive traveling abroad.
