Good point. But would a boatload of fisherman want to drift or motor close by a dive boat with bunch of soon-to-be-angry divers with sharp knives? Fisherman are going to drift, troll and motor with fishing gear. That's the way it goes. And Farnsworth is designated to be a SMCA with pelagic finfishing allowed, so they will be trolling. You risk being ensnared in fishing line whether you're on a mooring or anchored. And fortunately a boat can not legally motor by another boat that's flying a diver down flag. What's the rule, not within 500 feet? Captains all know that's not safe. What do you think, does that reslove your dilema?
The long lines at Cortez sound awful. Ouch.
