POINT CONCEPTION, Calif. – The Coast Guard conducted a medevac of a 42 year-old male from a vessel just offshore of Point Conception who was reported to be suffering from dive related illnesses today.

Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach received the request for a medical evacuation from dive vessel Truth at 12:25 p.m.

A 47-foot motor life boat and an MH-65C Dolphin rescue helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Los Angeles responded to the call. The helicopter transported the man from the Santa Barbara Channel to the UCLA Medical Center’s hyperbaric chamber.

The status of the diver was stable at that time.
