Emerald was owned and run by Glen Miller till he built the Coral Sea. Hurricane was run by A captain named Babcock, and his wife, Rusty, worked the galley. When you leaned against the main cabin on that boat in a swell, you could feel it move out of synch with the hull.

As for Emerald, I believe it was originally built in the 1880s and used in Lake Tahoe. Still operating in the 1970s it was (I believe) the oldest still operating documented vessel in California.
