This book is so common I would be very surprised if anyone reading this thread had NOT read it - and/or used it as a college text.

Willard Bascom wrote a number of very informative books, some that come to mind and are in my personal library are;
Waves and Beaches,
Hole in the bottom of the sea,
Deep water, ancient ships
Crest of the wave.

It is Crest of the Wave that should be of interest to you and others who are interested in dive history. Especially the origin of the wet suit which Mr. Bascom details in Crest of the Wave.

Mr Bascom is also in that big reef in the sky. Several years ago he was in an auto accident in Long Beach. He passed away several days later as a result of his injuries.
