Last July the conditions were just right and I had my gear, but the air temp was in the 50's that week and I whimped out. I'm batting zero so far. When the conditions aren't good I enjoy watching the pounding surf or hiking. We get the ICO and as ab season starts you get the stories of heart attacks, drownings, and rescues from rocky cliffs. Have seen calm cove entries and divers get in trouble as they venture out and can't get back into the cove due to a strong current sweeping it.
