Interesting that this mentions possible Sea Lion bites on some of the dead birds. They are often competing for the same foods. The Sea Lion population has boomed in the last couple decades, maybe the fish they feed on is thinning and they are turning on their competitors. Sea Lions pretty much have no predators, except whitey, perhaps that is why there is an increase in white shark activity in our waters.
