There are some really easy breathing regulators on the market today (Any Atomic, Scubapro Mk25-600, almost any Apeks). Think of it like getting a new car. My son has a 57 Chevy (three on the tree, drum brakes, and no power steering) it’s great to drive around the block, but I would rather drive my 2010 FJ.
It’s true that the basic design is about the same. But the tech is not.
