If you go to Redondo Dive N Surf and talk to Jocko, he is THE REG DUDE. Because I do alot of beach dives, he told me that I should use the Aqua Lung TITAN reg, (diaphragm style) because you can beat it up in the surf and sand and also use it for boat or open ocean dives. It is very dependable but not the "top of the line" like an Atomic reg. So depending upon what type of diving you are going to do the most, might depend on the type of reg you might want to consider. I also suggest getting a brand new reg. Food for thought.
