CHAMBER CHALLENGE 2010 - UPDATE #8 - $28,075 (posted 4/15/10 - last updated 4/12)

That's NOT a misprint. We've just cracked $28,000. Simply amazing. (And thank you to all our donors who've gotten us this far this fast.)

We start by singing the praises of the amazing generosity of the folks down at the Ocean Institute. They're always been longtime supporters of the Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber , usually taking two tables at Chamber Evening, buying scads of raffle tickets, and making a generous Challenge donation. This year, they called us and said, "We're going to increase our overall participation this year and our Challenge donation will total $7000." Wow!!!! (And that's in addition to their two tables and raffle tix at Chamber Evening.) As we always say, we appreciate support at any level but we REALLY appreciate support in the upper four-figures.

We also get to salute one of our dive clubs that are longtime supporters as well. Eo Ong & the Burbank Dive Club just last night (we spoke at their meeting) handed us a check for $500, making them once again a Silver-level donor. And that also points out the great thing about dive clubs. Pool together a bunch of smaller donations from all the members and you can make it a hefty donation in the name of the club.

Throw in three $100 donations and that slides us past $28K. But let's not stop there. We're on a good track right now and we're asking you to dig as deep as you can with whatever you can afford. Give us a call or do it through the website but get your name on the Chamber Challenge.
