Pelagic Drifters |
Posted by WalterM on May 30, 2010 at 10:15:28: We dove the deep blue yesterday. A couple of miles off of Dana Point, we headed west until we found blue water and dangled some lines. Top 40' had well over 40' vis. Below 80' had well over 40' vis. In between 10' -15'. The top was dead calm, very little current, below 80' a ripping, almost to hard to swim against current. Lots cool pelagic drifters. At the end of a dive, MzLinda spotted a Mola Mola circling under the boat. This is the coolest diving happening right now. All these pelagic drifters are here trying to clean up the plankton bloom. For a taste of the blue, check out my quick video WalterM Dana Point Pelagic Magic 2010 from Walter Marti on Vimeo.
