Last weekend Kathryn and I went on the Saturday-Sunday trip aboard the Great Escape. When we boarded on Friday evening Kathryn had a great time playing with Captain Tim's dog, Kodi.

We left early in the morning, but the crossing was quite bumpy, so we stopped at Catalina. The first dive was at Yellowtail point, the second at Sea Fan Grotto, and the third at Black Rock. The visibility was about 20-30 feet at all of the sites. At black rock I an many other divers were visited by a 300 lb. Black Sea Bass. I had a macro lens , and got no pictures, but it still was quite cool.

After the third dive the sea had calmed so Captain Tim headed for San Clemente Island. We did afternoon dive and a night dive at Northwest Harbor. In the morning we dove LCI point, East of the blockhouse, and the Blockhouse. The visibility at SCI was about 60 feet. Everywhere there water was full of pelagic creatures.

Being San Clemente there were also plenty of fish and interesting reef invertibrates.

It was a great weekend of diving aboard the Great Escape!
