Cabrillo Marine Aquarium is offering the public an opportunity to participate in its Floating Oceanography and Marine Biology Lab.

This hands-on trip will be aboard a specially equipped vessel where participants study some of the near-shore animals that will be collected. Learn about the fascinating world of plankton, animals that live in the mud and some of the fish that prefer the sandy bottom. The group also will identify marine birds and be on the lookout for sea lions and dolphins.

The lab will be out from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. The cost of the trip is $30. Reserve a space by calling 310-548-7562. Log on to www.cabrillomarineaquarium.org for more details.
