The copy of the check-in log went AWOL, but we get the idea.

There's no substitute for a double check.

Nose counts DO NOT work. I've been on a boat where they did a
nose count just to see if it was worth doing a roll-call. Nose
count came up good and they were pulling the hook and doing the
roll-call when the last two divers popped up. We were south
of Pt. Sur at the time. Not a good place to leave divers.
