Actually these two shipwrecks are in shallow water which is pretty typical of the 'reef-wrecks' on the north shore of Hispanola. The Tile Wreck is in only 10' of water so we are able to work 3-4 hours a day underwater.

While we would like to be able to work continuously we just don't have the funds, or like you and most others, the time to do so.

Our sessions are typically two weeks long which is enough time to begin training, uncover the wreck (we keep the keel & planking under large sandbags when inactive), excavate, begin conservation/documentation of artifacts, and then cover the wreck before leaving.

The last session was six weeks with divers staying from 1-3 weeks each. The next session is Jan. 2-16, 2011.
