Thanks Ross, UTC's UDI unit looks very cool! (See Link) ...but I'd have to disagree with the NOAA Eval. that FFM's burn up extra gas. FFM's have a nominal extra mask volume that doesn't affect gas consumption. And a slow calm oral communication doesn't use more gas than a regular exhale. I'm still a FFM fan but oral Comms are affected by temps/thermoclines, depths and terrain.
