Diving in the rain can be pretty good. The islands are not usually impacted - sometimes areas near large bird colonies or sea lion rookeries can be iffy, but run off is typically not an issue. Have see a large plume going out to the islands after a major storm with lots of run off, but there is always the islands other side ot dive.
