I was born in San Pedro and lived there most of my adult life, so John was a fixture in everything I was involved in. I first met him when the aquarium was in the old bathhouse. There was a touch tank and a lot of dried animals on the wall. Every trip to the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium reminds me of the work he out in. I'll think of John every time I attend a grunion run, whale fiesta, Cabrillo fireworks, Around Catalina whale watching or see the fresnal lens in the Pt Fermin lighthouse.
I can see him dancing a jig right now.
