We had hopes of getting in a dive today. The ocean was choppy and dirty along the west side of Palos Verdes so we explored several sites along the south side. We didn't find anywhere calm enough until we reached White Point. We dropped into a pretty good current and the visibility never reached more than eighteen inches. I thunmbed the dive as soon as I saw the anchor in the sand.
We spent the rest of the day picking up trash. Our total haul included fifty-three ballons, two logs, sand bags, pieces of wood, a traffic sawhorse and a five gallon bucket of oil.
We did manage to find a gray whale and another pod of Risso's dolphin off Rocky Point.

Gooseneck barnacles, Lepas anatifera covered one of the logs. There was also a kelp crab on the log but we freed him near Abby the abalone at Marineland.
