Last Saturday February 5, 2011 the Sea Divers dove the wreck of the Star of Scotland aboard the Giant Stride. We left the slip in Marina del Rey at 7:30AM and arrived at the wreck about 40 minute later.

The visibility was about 12 feet and a bit milky and chunky. The water was 65°F. One of our group hunted lobster and he pulled four nice ones from the wreck, the largest of which was about 4 pounds.

I spent my time taking pictures of nudibranchs, small fish, shrimp, and colonial cup corals, and anemones.

After two dives on the star we headed toward shore for a dive on the old breakwater. The viability at this site was about 5 feet. I saw hundreds of short lobster, and grabbed a few that were just short. The few ones I could tell were legal size were out of reach.

It was another great Sea Divers trip on a great boat. Our next trip is on March 5 aboard the Magician to Little Farnsworth. We would love to have you along. You can sign-up online or call Suzanne at (714) 968-9814 for reservations.
