I hvae 2unexpected openings on our Three day trip Dive and Hike trip on the Vision to the Northern Channel Islands, April 7-10, 2011

We have put together a dive/hike trip to the Northern Channel Islands (San Miguel, Santa Rosa) aboard the Truth Aquatics largest and best boat, the Vision from Sea Landing in Santa Barbara. This will be a 3 day trip as the consensus in 2009 was that 2 days was too short. We will load at Sea Landing Santa Barbara late on a Thursday “nite” (the 7th) with the boat departing Friday April 8 early AM while we are asleep. We will then spend Friday, Sat and Sunday am at the Islands and come back to Santa Barbara Sunday April 10th about 5-6 pm. As on the previous trip, this is going to be tailored to hiking, diving, and having a good time. Lobster season will be over so we are not going to be trying to make 5&6 ‘hero’ dives a day. That is not to say there won’t be plenty of diving but sites will be chosen in proximity to where we take those who will be hiking that day. A National Park naturalist will be onboard and on the hikes. We have scheduled this in the mid April as the best time to see the Islands green and flowering after the rains and give us the best chance to still miss out on “weather”.

For those of you who have not done been with Truth Aquatics before, the Truth Aquatics web site is http://www.truthaquatics.com/aboutus.htm. You can go on that site and see the boats, their layout/bunk room, learn all about the operation, the islands, hiking etc.

We limit this to 25 people so that there is lots of room and that way everyone will have extra space to store their stuff in the bunk room. The TOTAL cost per person is $560 for the three days. That is ALL INCLUSIVE, meals, snacks, air fills etc and also includes a 10% crew tip. The only thing that is not included is alcohol – it is BYOB. These trips are a blast - good folks/good times.

As I said, we have two unexpected opening so if you are interested, just drop me an email at asaxon@mednet.ucla.edu and can give you more details etc.
