The only thing I found was from the Catalina Divers' Supply history site...
1980: The Avalon Harbor clean-up begins it's first year! The effort is spearheaded by Avalon resident Dennis Reitinger with the help of local and mainland divers. Catalina Divers Supply supplies divers with free air.
