Here's a link to my favorite. The Guardian is made for Rec Divers and Pros alike. The double seal fits most faces, is very comfortable and warm.

These units are of course acoustic, and are under all the environmental challenges of marine acoustic transmission/reception. My experience with the verbal transducer Comms(OTS) between divers and/or the boat is it's mostly affected by temps/thermoclines. Line of sight didn't seem to be an issue. Dropping the transducer from the boat to the divers working depth is ideal. Comms between divers is good. Slow and steady speech is best.
