Something is inherently fascinating about Navanax inermis. Perhaps because it's a bit of a contradiction - a predatory slug that's dedicated to controlling the population of other slugs. At the dock today, countless Hermissendas were going about their business, and Navanax was out in force.

This one was huge, larger than a kosher pickle.

Between its size and crown-like distinctive marking on its back, for the moment, it's the Navanax King.

Just barely got this shot before the Hermissenda disappeared. Seeing several other Hermissendas within striking distance made me think that it must be like roulette for Hermissendas down there.
