Went out in N. Santa Monica Bay today. Anchored up on the Star of Scotland and a school of 100's of common dolphin with lots of youngsters blew right by me. I figured that was good as they would put any landlords (GWS) on notice. Dropped down on the wreck to a remarkable 50 inches (about 4 feet). Ugh. Collected a bunch of old lead sinkers and other bric a brack. The admiral had given me specific instructions to bring home a calico but there was no way I would be able to see one and shoot it given the conditions. So in despiration, I pulled the hook, went over to some rock piles and pulled out a fishing pole of all things. I managed to catch 3 legal calico although one was 5+ lbs - a big fish and was quickly reaeased to keep breeding. Vis sucked!
