Every year early September there is a pier to pier paddle..Avila pier to Pismo pier..7-1/2 miles..a great well attended event.

Generally the best time to paddle is in Fall of the year.

Currently there is a shark allert..none of the beaches are closed but all are posted. Since the GW death at Avila pier a few years ago the area has been on high allert for sharks.
So far the score is GWS 1 humans O and the area wants to keep it that way.
