Well one out of two isn’t bad. The seas were flat but we spent the entire day in the fog with surface visibility ranging from 50-150 yards. The fog ended our plan to do some long drift dives with boat pick up so we headed for the wreck of the Star of Scotland and the rock piles in Northern SM Bay. Vis was great on the Star with the photographers making two jumps there. No Giant Black Sea Bass seen there but Pat saw > 6 on the inside 60’ Venice rock pile/pilings. The surface water close to the beach was very brown but it opened up after the top 10 feet. Given the really good vis we were seeing, we then dove some secret places close to Marina del Ray where Pat and I pulled up limits of really nice bugs: biggest 6 3/4 lbs. He and one other large one were just walking about on the hard gravel bottom…go figure Great day in the fog overall. PS - when are you going to update this site so it is easy to simply upload pictures... Current system is archaic. |
