I'm a big fan of the UK superq eled. May be smaller than you want. They are coming out with a smooth video version that was the 2nd best thing I saw at the dive show (best was the oly om-d em-5 camera).

my big light is a magicshine, I love it. I have the monster 878, a buddy has the 876. Really well made and easy to use. The glowing ring is really nice. I will probably put a diffuser on mine because what I really like in a bug light is a light that's really dim but has wide spill. Gotta figure out how to get the diffuser I have onto the front glass on this thing.

my old light was a UK800r rechargeable. Big halogen, 1 hour runtime. Really wide and smooth. I have several around but buying good nicad D's gets expensive.
