I hear you, that UK 800 rech 30 watt halogen was my light of choice for many years. Now I use a Brightstar Dark buster 21 watt HID approx 1300 lumens in a handheld light, no cannister. It comes with a diffuser for a wider beam, but I like the narrow spot light for bug hunting. It has 5200 ma Li ion battery. This is an expensive light though, around 300 bucks, and I have already had to replace the batterys. One of my buddies uses the UK Aquasun LED and that looks like a very strong light as well.
