Dave Golden dedicated years to presenting marine life to new divers at almost all 3-R's - he is one of the best. Jess and Brad were the leaders for many years. Its not the financial support as much as legal protection. If you teach scuba, there is a business justification for insurance, though any instructor will tell you its a hobby not an income generator. I can not accept money nor would I want to. Perfectly nice folks can lodge a suit over urchin punctures, falls, etc. Even with waivers - you still end up in court. Fortunately nothing like that happened, but the risk is too great thanks to our suit-happy society.
