Yes, but, what are they doing with the photos? A purpose makes it worthwhile. it was always possible to buy a cheap film housing and take photos, even 20 years ago. They sold one time use ones for about 30$. But, for most who stuck with photography, all the cheap stuff did was to make them yearn to be able to do more and much better. It was a "hook".
When I think of how much time and money I spent on photo classes, camera equipment, scanning equipment, more classes when I felt I was in a rut, more camera equipment, etc. etc. etc. I'm not sure the "me generation" would ever understand it. Sometimes, I don't understand it.
