Limits - I keep hearing the fishery is very viable. Leave 7 per day. Seeing as you’re able to get a three day limit card. Only 21 in the freezer. Plenty for a party, and off season. And a tool to bust abusers.

Hoop net - Never done it. But, it sounds like a great way to spend and evening. Not sure of their success rate, maybe reduce their limit to 4. More reasons to take out the boat and party.

Season - I’ll leave that to the biologists. But eggs and sperm patches should be forbidden.

Commercial - Their traps should have an ID tag on them. All traps should be accounted for. A fine for any trap lost.

Recreational - I like Elaine’s idea of a one day lobster licence.

I also like the idea of a maximum size limit. I attended a lecture from Dr. Milton Love where he stated that lobsters do not successfully breed here. Also, most large lobster are mostly male. These bulls rule their territory, thus reducing the genetic diversity. With these arguments, there may be no reason to let the big ones go. Though, I do.
